Ardex P51 Primer is a high strength concentrated water based primer and bonding agent suitable for a wide range of applications. It's primarily used for priming and preparing internal surfaces ready to receive cement-based levelling compounds, adhesives, screeds, and even plaster based materials. Ardex P51 primer helps to improve adhesion and even works to inhibit the penetration of water in intermittently damp locations.
Ardex P51 can also be used to prime porous surfaces prior to the application of Ardex water-based levelling and smoothing compounds, and wood based sheets and boards prior to the application of tile adhesive. It seals and primes whilst the blue pigment gives you clear identification whilst working. The resealable bottle is easy to use and means that you don't need to buy a new bottle for each job, and as Ardex P51 primer is solvent-free, you'll never have to deal with a nasty smell whilst working with it.
Ardex P51 Primer can also be used as a temporary protective coating over cement-based smoothing compounds and repair mortars where these have to be walked on before the flooring is applied and as a temporary dust-proofing treatment on screeds. As the primer seals pores on absorbent sub-floors, it inhibits air bubbles rising through applied sub-floor smoothing and levelling compounds, thus extending their flow life and workability.
