Elevate Your Space with Textured Tiles

Are you looking to add depth and character to your living space? Textured tiles might just be the answer you've been searching for. At The London Tile Co., we're passionate about helping you create spaces that not only look stunning but also reflect your unique style and personality. Let's delve into the world of  textured tiles and discover why they're a must-have for any design enthusiast.

What are textured tiles?

Textured tiles are exactly what they sound like - tiles with a 3D design on their surface. They offer a versatile option that adds visual interest and tactile appeal to any surface. Unlike their smooth counterparts, textured tiles feature intricate patterns, raised surfaces, or uneven finishes that create a dynamic look and feel. From subtle embossed designs to bold relief patterns, textured tiles come in a variety of styles to suit any aesthetic preference.

Textured tiles inject depth and dimension into your space, transforming ordinary walls or floors into works of art. Whether you're aiming for a rustic, industrial, or contemporary look, textured tiles can help you achieve your desired ambience effortlessly. With textured tiles, you have the freedom to experiment with patterns, shapes, and colours, allowing you to create bespoke designs that reflect your style. Whether you opt for a subtle textured accent or a bold statement wall, the possibilities are endless.

Where to use textured tiles?

Textured tiles are generally suitable for use on walls, some floor tiles do have subtle texture but this tends to be part of the design i.e. wood grain or riven stone. Here are some of our favourite ways to use textured tiles:

  • Kitchen splashbacks - for a simple look that's anything but boring use textured tiles on the walls in your kitchen
  • Showers - many people like to use a different tile in the shower area than the rest of the bathroom to create separate zones.
  • Feature walls - you can create a feature wall anywhere in your home, so why not add a textured finish as well as visual appeal
  • Niches - if you're adding recessed niches to your walls for storage you can use a textured tile to add interest and make it stand out. This works even better if you are adding lighting to your niche.

Are textured tiles hard to keep clean?

While textured tiles may pose cleaning challenges due to their uneven surface, proper maintenance can help keep them looking pristine. Regular cleaning with a suitable  tile cleaner, can effectively remove dirt and debris from the textured surface. Additionally, sealing the tiles can help protect them from stains and simplify cleaning. It can be challenging to grout the joints in textured tiles so here are some tips for grouting textured tiles.
